Lakewood is committed to keeping our students' environment safe. We comply with the State of Michigan's FIRE PREVENTION CODE (Act 207 of 1941).

Each year students practice drills preparing for tornados, fire, hazardous spills and human threat. Prior to the first drill, staff direct students to safety zones, expectations of behavior while in the midst of drills and answer questions. Our littlest Vikings will even practice days before the drill to alleviate any anxiety and allow them time to understand the concept of practicing this important safety matter.
