Salute to Service

Lakewood Public Schools is committed to honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces. This year, we  launched an initiative that allows our community to honor a retired service member during a “Veteran of the Game” feature.  A special reserved tent is situated at the entrance of the football stadium for the Veteran of the Game, surrounded by our student hosts, as well friends and family, so that community members and fans can connect with our veterans. The honored U.S. Veteran is introduced and celebrated on-field during a brief half-time ceremony, highlighting his/her career achievements.  Our veterans gave of themselves to serving our country, defending our nation, and fought for our freedom. We stand united with them and honor the commitment and the sacrifices of all veterans, their families, and loved ones.
