Lakewood Public School Educators embrace a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Educators engage in monthly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with a focus on the following four guiding questions:

1. What do we want our students to know and be able to do?
2. How will we know if each student has learned it?
3. How will we respond when students do not learn it?
4. How will we extend the learning for students who have demonstrated proficiency?

LPS is committed to reviewing and adopting curriculum on a 6-year cycle, involving educators throughout every step of the process. Adopted curriculum is aligned to Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Academic Standards and Common Core State Standards.
